Toots Horse Portrait

Lily is a home bred mare who shares a field with Toots. Lily is owned by a doctor friend of mine whose schedule is by necessity very busy and not flexible at short notice, which is fairly essential in the Scottish autumn for taking decent photographs. The first sunshine we had, I went to photograph Lily and Toots. By the time I got there the weather had changed and Toots was shaking like a leaf courtesy of a preceding vet visit. The plan was abandoned until the next burst of sunshine, which again was in conflict with doctor's hours. Toots' owner undertook to hold both horses for me to photograph. For some reason Lily took exception to both of us and I had to follow her around the field (we couldn't catch her!) to try and get the shot. I finally got one. To my relief Toots, an ex-racehorse, was up for Brownie points and was a perfect subject.
