This compilation portrait features four top Scottish horses in their respective disciplines.

LISNAMARROW, was a showjumper shortlisted for the Olympic Games with his owner Janet Hunter. Unfortunately a last minute tendon injury prevented them fulfilling their dreams.

FLYING ACE, winning-most point-to-point racehorse of all time, was owned, ridden and trained by Doreen Calder from her farm in the Scottish Borders. This wonderful horse won an amazing 52 races.

GLENBURNIE, was bred by Bunny Maitland-Carew at his home, Thirlestane Castle to be a Cheltenham Gold Cup winner until Ian Stark took Glen under his wing. A top class event horse, he won a European Gold medallist at Punchestown.

LUCIUS, bred in Perthshire won possibly the most famous race in the world, the Aintree Grand National.

The picture is an annual prize at the Scottish National meeting at Ayr Racecourse in April .
